From Veracruz to Matthews NC

El Jarocho

El Jarocho was born from years of experience, hard work, and a true passion for Mexican food. In 2024, that experience became a dream of creating something of our own. Since then, we've continued to grow with the incredible support of our customers. Carolina Beer Temple opened its doors to us and became a key part of our journey. Today, we're proud to keep growing with them as part of Ames Street Marketplace, serving fresh food made with passion. We're grateful to everyone who has supported us. This is just the beginning.

Our Culinary Journey

Generations of Flavor

Our story began in Veracruz, where family recipes were passed down through generations. From slow-simmered consomé to crisp Quesabirrias, we honor those traditions daily.

Bringing these authentic tastes to Charlotte and Matthews is our passion. We believe in honest ingredients and the joy of sharing real Mexican street food.

Our Guiding Principle

No Shortcuts, Just Good Food Made Right

Every morning, our kitchen comes alive at 5 AM. We hand-press tortillas, chop fresh salsas, and prepare every ingredient from scratch. This is our commitment to flavor.

Serving Charlotte & Matthews

Our day begins before dawn, preparing fresh ingredients and slow-simmering our rich consomé for Quesabirrias.

We press masa into warm tortillas throughout the day, ensuring every taco and quesadilla is built on freshness.

From crisp Quesabirrias to sizzling al pastor, every dish hits the flat top for that perfect, fresh-cooked flavor.

Whether dine-in, takeaway, or catering, we deliver authentic Jarocho flavors with a smile, from our family to yours.
